This tune challenges vocalists to deliver a poignant lyric with emotion and intention while they experiment with an odd meter within the familiar form of a 12-bar minor blues. This arrangement begins rubato, offering an opportunity to explore phrasing, then has a lyric solo opportunity, an open improvisation section, and finally opens up to a shout-chorus style section in the second half.
